Memories, I Whisper
It was a lonely night, thinking, a twinge of affright,
In a world of thought and dear memories.
The silence was unbroken, not a word was spoken-
A blinding flash of light, engrossed in what he sees,
And questions fill my head, what should I believe?
"Memories," I whisper, "everending."
A night to remember, so sickly warm, bugs swarm.
Driven inside to ponder his dying!
The pain I wasn't sharing, who but me caring?
So hard as it was, I was trying,
But not a single tear, I wasn't crying.
"Memories," I whisper, "everending."
All of these things a bad omen it brings,
To a home that feels like a house.
Poor Emily, oh what did she see?
Pushed to insanity, that timid little mouse,
What drove her so crazy as to kill he spouse?
"Memories," I whisper, "tormenting."
Early fall, the season that beats them all,
She was left for death to break her-
But she didn't give in, she went after him.
The horrible events that followed are a blur,
But Emily Reeked of death the morning after.
"Memories," I cry, "dementing."
Oh, dear Emily was through, but only I knew.
A day or two later she came knocking.
I was alone, and she knew I was home!
Emily, oh, revealed secrets so shocking,
Thought she commited a crime, fed up with his mocking.
"Memories," I say, "destroy."
"You hipocrite," I scolded, "how could you do it?"
She hid a shy smile, " A favor, I implore."
I was afraid, she might put me in an early grave!
Then she asked for the worst, for me to settle the score,
I cried, "You cannot live a lie anymore!"
"Memories," I sigh, "forever."
"You won't rat me out!" Poor Emily did shout.
There I spotted the knife she had hid,
She, poor Emily, then sighed, in vain she tried
To kill me, but who was she to kid.
I took her life for what she thought she did.
"Memories," I whisper, "kill."
Now I sit here, full of mock fear,
Laughing insanely inside.
If only she knew, what I had to do.
Kill him she did try,
Who really did it made her cry.
"Memories," I laugh, "lie."
I suppose you need a reason, for my so called treason.
Oh, Emily stole my love, my friend,
My heart was stolen, tear were flowin.
Both of them to never I had to send.
In my heart I knew thier lives had to end.
"Memories," I shout, "pain!"
Oh, what did I gain from their pain?
My dears, a lot more than you like to think.
Now I must set sail, with the end of my tale.
No one know, or can show
You where I may go.
But be forewarned by my tragedy,
My deeds still need mending...
"Memories are everending..."
